La Lettre

La Lettre – is the third musical collaboration I have had the good fortune to work on with Jola. I wrote a poem, which later transformed into a song. This is the first time Jola and I co-wrote the lyrics together, resulting in a “dialogue” between a man and woman’s inner thoughts.

The song captured in the video is a gift from Jola which I thank her and Leszek Jarmula for making for me with all my heart. Once again, they brought my lyrics to life!

As the co-author of these lyrics, I had no idea what to expect once the song and video were complete. I am absolutely touched by yet another riveting piece of work from Jolanta Borusiewicz. The sheer passion, power of interpretation and feeling is felt throughout the entire piece. From the beginning, with a delicate happiness upon receiving “La Lettre”, to a lust and burning passion expressed in the middle, and reality striking us to our conscious level towards the end make this entire composition and video a masterful work of music, film and art. I am overjoyed with happiness and cannot thank Jola and Leszek enough for their desire, hard work, and commitment in making this project come to fruition. Yet again, Jola brought my lyrics (this time we wrote the song together) to life with a dazzling, touching and emphatic display.

Synopsis

…A young man writes to a mature woman. He met her a few years ago and cannot forget her. He confesses his deep feelings for her and desire to meet again. The woman, touched by his words, feels younger and happier as she reads the letter. She remembers the teenager years ago, who has since, become a man. This letter evokes her to reflect on life, which passes by too quickly.
